force. he retired about ten years ago in his mid 50s and really saved and you did really well throughout your life that you were able to retire at such a young age and then we never lacked for everything. we went on great trips everywhere around the world and had a good upbringing. so, clearly saving money. >> for folks with kids or their children have children, what do you say to them? what's one of the first things you do with your children to teach them about being thrifty? >> providing the right example. we used to do a lot of things that we loved to do, but we didn't stay at the fancy hotels. we didn't eat at the best restaurants. we would stay at three-star hotels and we didn't take the first-class train. whenever we were traveling throughout europe, we were fortunate to have lived in so many places around the world and we were able to see that area where we lived and take advanta

advantage. >> practical. you have tips for us. what's the first one on the list? >> first is my dad has made sort of a hobby, and both my mom and dad, their coupon book, making sure they look for the deals, rig right? >> well, yes. now we have the time, the luxury of time to look at all the ads that come out in the mail. >> sunday paper. >> sunday papers. and we do shop around. we're fortunate to live here in south florida that have plenty of supermarkets and have a wide choice of places to go to. >> another tip on the list? >> another tip is also, i think, you guys plan your meals, right, for the week? >> yes. usually i plan my meals and i see what i need for those meals and then i go through my coupons and i say, oh, i've got coupons for margarine, butter, whatever.

>> everybody needs to learn how to save. >> i love your last tip. just because it's on sale doesn't mean it's a bargain. right? >> no, no. >> don't buy it if you don't need it, right? >> exactly. >> that's the most savings, don't buy it. >> toent go to costco and load up on tons of toilet paper. >> how much of this have you adopted in your own life? >> my parents will tell you i'm not the best savesaver. they think i shop a lot. i do look for a good bargain thanks to them and the values they gave me growing up. >> mr. and mrs. morales, we know you have raised a beautiful daughter, nye and out. it's such a pleasure to get to meet you. >> thank you very much. i also learned a lot from my own children. i love them and i --

boats, to jet skis. one of the most popular attractions this time of year is the miami boat show. and right over there, across bisca biscayne bay, that's miami. water plus wind means a more daring kind of fun. there's wind surfing and kite surfing. something i tried, but didn't get too far. >> it was a nice try. >> reporter: you can also enjoy a slower pace, with just a paddle and a board. some even do paddle board yoga. and one of the best water event sincere under the water. scuba diving or snorkeling. head west on a boat to the
